An informational essay introduction is one of the most important parts of an essay. It’s also one of the most difficult to write, but it doesn’t have to be if you follow these simple guidelines. You’ll find yourself with an awesome introduction that will make your reader’s eyes light up, and they’ll be itching for more!

Make your introduction as interesting as possible, so that your reader has something to want to read. Don’t go overboard, but make sure that you do provide a few ideas that are interesting enough. Give them something that will make their eyes pop and make them want to keep reading. Don’t make them feel like you’re trying to sell them on something, but if you’re trying to build trust, then you should try to strike that balance between selling and building trust.

Don’t start your introduction by telling the story of why you wrote your essay, either. You need to leave that for the end of the essay, where your reader will be able to understand your main points. If you get too caught up in the story, you may lose the reader, which is something that you don’t want to happen!

You can begin the introduction with some interesting facts. This will help draw your reader in and show them what information you have to offer. You can include interesting stories about your own life or about some famous person that you know personally. Don’t try to reinvent the wheel here, though; just make sure that you share something about yourself that others might find interesting.

A great way to get people interested in your essay is to give them a few tips about what you learned throughout your studies. You may be able to include some of this information in your essay, but it is also a great idea to include some of it at the very beginning of the essay, to catch people’s attention and give them a reason to look forward to your essay. You can provide a short overview of the things you learned, or you can do a detailed survey of some kind. Either way, make sure that you give something to your readers that will give them a reason to read more, not just because you included it in the beginning of your introduction.

The last section of the introduction should wrap things up in a neat little bow, by telling the reader the conclusion. You need to present some sort of “big picture” here, and tell them what’s going to happen next. If you are doing this for a business article, this is usually what you’re going to talk about. but it doesn’t have to be anything major; it could just be a summary of what was discussed in the essay or how the author ended it.

Lastly, you need to tell them that it’s time to stop reading! Don’t throw your readers into the deep end of the pool just yet. The first paragraph should give them a bit of information, but then leave them hanging. You can either end the introduction with a note about what you’ll be writing next, or you can give them the option to continue to read on in another part of the essay.

These are only a few guidelines to follow when writing your introduction for your essay. Keep in mind that it needs to flow well, it needs to grab the reader’s attention, and it needs to end with them wanting more information! Without those three components, you’re wasting a lot of time!
